Complaining can be simply defined as a lack of hard work.This is what I have learned and applied over the course of my life.Complaining is the typical reaction when one does not achieve the anticipated results. Working harder towards achieving a goal has more benefits to it as you are probable to learn something on the journey to achieving that goal.If instead you choose to complain, your motivation could be killed which can make it harder to get back up and continue on. Complaining can be seen as an excuse for hard work and putting effort into achieving your goals.Working harder will better your work habits and will better prepare you for future challenges, whereas complaining would put an immediate halt on your journey to success.

This quote makes me recall a time when I was 12 years old. I was on a soccer team and my coach made us do laps around the soccer field for the last half of practice. Everybody,including me, was complaining when he told us about his plan. We ran the laps for the last half of practice and we learned that the running that we do at practice goes towards helping us improve our performance and endurance in the games. I learned from that day that working harder is a better alternative than complaining and that I was lazy to work hard and looked for an easy way out of that situation. If I had not done the running on that day, I would not have learned the benefits that comet with it.

This shows that working harder instead of complaining is more beneficial and can help you later in life if you realize the value of it. Complaining can be very costly in terms of success as it is an obstacle that stands in your way and prevents you from becoming successful. My dad always used to tell me that a successful man never complains and I have taken this into account and always encourage others to not complain and to get the job done instead and move on. Work hard and don’t complain because in the end, the successful one always rises to the top and conquers.

Why are the things we love Always so hard to get?

There are always going to be other people that want the same thing, it always comes down to who wants it more.

Without the challenge of discovering the things we love, life would be boring. As a human we are made to discover our interests. This is achieved mainly through school and extracurricular activities. Allowing for our minds to discover the things we love. Most of the time these things turn out to be classified as dreams. A Lot of people give up on these dreams as they seem simply unattainable. But nothing is unattainable. There is one simple answer to why things are so hard to get. And that is to prove how bad we want it. This allows for us to define who the best of the best is as not anyone can make it to the NHL or NASCAR. If these things we admire came across as easy we would not have them same respect for them. This all in all creates for a challenge that we all admire. Getting to this level of excellence takes some serious skill and dedication. If you want to achieve your dream you must put in some serious effort and not let anyone hold you back. This is possible but you must never give up, never stop practicing and never back down. Once done you will have done what you were made to do reach for your dream and jump out and grab it. In the end you will not be the only person striving for a dream there will be many other competitors that you must outwit and out match to become the very best that the world has ever seen.

If you have ever had a dream like i have the key is to be patent it’s not worth rushing and everything normally goes better if you are able to relax prepare and take your time. No matter how impossible things seem to be there will always be a way to get around the obstacles you see before you.

The Story of Cue-raw

I stand here alone, guarding my post, looking around i see buildings obliterated by who knows what, to my right there is a old living complex, to my left, nothing but a mind field of dead soldiers. I, me, i was the only one left. Behind me there are a few children playing soccer, there was no soccer field, yet the children managed to play. They seemed to be unaware of the battle field that lay around them.

I watched them play there game for a bit they seemed quite into the game. In fact, the one child, the one with short brown hair had kicked the ball to the extent that his shoe flew off! It landed about five or so feet from me. I watched him intensely as he ran to go get his shoe and their ball. He was not concerned by my look as my eyes were concealed behind the sunglasses I had been wearing. I watched them for a while. They seemed to always be cheering and always happy. I thought to myself that they must not know what is about to happen, for some time I thought about telling them but decided against it.

Two hours went by, I waited and waited, the kids went on with their game while I stood alone at my post gripping my weapon for what was about to come. Suddenly, a rumble came from the streets ahead the children now seemed to notice what might come of their lives. They shot me a look of concern as I raised my gun, they quickly grabbed their ball and cowered in a near building behind me. I was scared to; I wanted to run; I wanted to live. I thought about what I would have to do as soon as I saw the men wearing the blue uniforms. Before I had time to finish my thought there they were rushing down the streets there must have been fifty men. It was like a wall of death wherever they walked, people died. I was ready and aiming, I only had a few more seconds to wait before they were in range. I was unnoticed and very scared. The men came closer and closer I then cocked my gun. Only having one clip I knew that with excellent accuracy I could only kill about thirty men, I then knew I was going to die.

I emptied my gun into the enemy lines killing thirty five men, I looked back and saw the children. They gave me a look of hope, a hope that they might all survive. I then cowered behind a concrete barricade I was very close to the children now. The one boy then spoke “are we going to see our family again,” this nearly brought me to tears. I told them, “I didn’t know”. Saying such ended my hidden emotions as tears dripped down my face. Well, we embraced in a hug; I felt something in the boy’s pocket, I thought to myself, no, it can’t be. I then asked him what he had in his pocket. He said that he had found it and took it from his father as he pulled it out. It was a grenade! In all my luck how could it be! A grenade! He now stood a chance against the fifteen men I rushed the boys into a building and rushed them up a set of stairs the men now saw their location and chased after them in hot pursuit, the kids hide under a bed as instructed not knowing what was about to happen. I pulled the pin on the grenade without having time to wish the children goodbye. I jumped down the stairs into the group of blue uniformed soldiers, killing them all along with myself for the life of the children.

The children that I had not known. My legacy lives on in the village of Cue-raw. The two children that I saved now protect the village watching over the kids in the nearby soccer court, as life goes on.

We all have one life. One chance to do whatever we desire. To strive for our goals and achieve success. Every moment should be captured. You never know when you might die. You might die in one second from now. Live every moment like it is your last. When one moment is gone, it is not going to come back. Ever. Life is a journey with failures and successes. Although life may not give you the opportunities you are looking for at times, there is always a way to pass that hardship and still be happy with life. Live every moment and shine your individual personality every moment that you get.

Trust is important in every relationship

I believe trust is the basis of every relationship. Trust is what makes every relationship unique. Trust is what is the initial step that has to be taken in order for anything to occur before that. If there is no trust in a relationship, the relationship is either never going to begin or is coming to a stop. In my opinion, trust is a symbol of love, reliability, honesty, and teamwork.

Love is a strong word that emphasizes the word trust in every letter. Love is an essential element in every relationship and it ties hand in hand with trust. The ability to feel comfortable around someone and always show your true self is an element of trust.Two people need to be working together in order for trust to be there.

Seek help when needed

Always ask for help when you need it. Although you may feel strong and independent it is always important to ask for help at times when you need it.

When I was in grade 6, I got bullied in school because I was the new kid that everyone wanted to pick on. I got pushed around, called names, and get small things like my rubber band stolen. It was a rough time for me since I was not comfortable with the new school environment. I asked for help from my parents and teachers. The help had led me to where I am today. It has made me strong, bold, and independent.

From that experience I learned that the people surrounding you are always there to help whenever you need it. you can always reach out and grab their hand in any circumstance that arises. Have the power to stand up for yourself.

Everything is possible

A belief is all it takes. A belief that everything that you encounter in life can be accomplished through hard work and dedication. During times of stress, some situations may appear harder than they actually are. You have the power to overpower the obstacles. There is always a solution to every problem. If there is no solution, there probably was not problem in the first place. Working hard through the situations that may seem impossible has the best results at the end.

The ladder to success may be a hard path

Success is a journey that takes its own route. It brings many bumps along the way that teach you things about yourself. The definition of success is different for everyone. It may be working your dream job or making your parents happy. I believe that whatever you wish to achieve can be obtained. Putting in the work and effort to gain success will certainly lead to success as the end result.

Live your life with no excuses.

Do not fear failure rather fear not trying

Failure is a lack of success and we usually fear failure because we are afraid that we are not going to reach our own goals. How are we suppose to reach our goals when we are even afraid to fail or keep trying until we reach that goal. I choose this life philosophies because pain is a strong deterrent. This means that we, ironically, feel most inclined to give up on areas that matter to us. The more important they are, the scarier and more painful they are to fail at.. Not giving up has resulted in the greatest successes of my life. We often quit because of lack of ownership, not willing to put the time, afraid to fail at something again and not willing to put the time.

Time is useless use it wisely.

We don’t know what is might happen to us in a minute, hour, a day, week, month or year. I chose this quote because l believe that we should use our time wisely before it’s too late for us do make a change. Things aren’t always going to be there in life they come and go so we should use our time wisely rather than wasting with unwanted things in life.l have three ways that l can use my time wisely which include ;

Fortune favours the brave

Life is driven by destiny. You are the creator of your own destiny. To me this life philosophy means that people who encounter difficulties with courage can achieve massive success in life. A person who hesitate or afraid of venturing into new tasks can do no great deed. It suggests that as to take a risk now and then. People achieve success in life not because of their good luck alone. They achieve success because they are brave enough to remove the obstacles with courage. Things that come to us quite easily are rather lightly esteemed. Prizes won after hard fights are worth having. Favor here means to look favorably upon, or to reward. The brave, refers to anyone who is brave.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step at a time

You may plan and dream all you want about a long journey, but you have to begin somewhere. You may have a vision or agenda for change, but the first step is crucial getting started. So put that foot forward, and realize that this humble step will one day take you down the path to a destination that you may reach only years later. If you wait for things to happen, probably, nothing would happen. You have to take the initiative and act. You need to take the first step, and then the other steps would follow. Waiting, and doing nothing, do not create success, and do not help you achieve your goals, tasks or chores. You need to act. You need to move toward your goal and not wait for the right time, the right circumstances or the right mood.

In the end we only regret the changes we didn’t take.

We can’t turn back the clock of time. Good or bad, right or wrong, it is done. It’s over! One thing you don’t want to say before you die is. I should have done this or I should have said that or I should have loved more, or give more, or experience more. Don’t wait another day to take a risk toward your dreams, don’t wait another day to do an action toward what you feel is right. If you don’t take chances and actions toward your goals, if you play it safe, and feel secure where you are at. You will loose yourself, your dreams will fade away until you don’t believe in them anymore and you will never know what your life could have been, if you would have taken small risks and pushed hard to get to your dreams. When you see an opportunity, take it, cease it and never look back to where you were.

Narrative

Growing up l always loved playing tennis. It was always my escape from the outside world. When l was in grade four l was giving an opportunity to be trained by the Zimbabwean tennis player Byron Black and Cara Black. They gave me this opportunity hoping that l would have bettered my future. They were going to train me for for two to three years because they hoped l could be the next generation of tennis players of our country. I became more and more arrogant and overconfidence. I kept on telling myself that l did not need practice and that l know no matter what l was going to make it in the world of tennis. I started missing practice and lying that l was sick because l did not want to show up to practice. It got to the point where Cara had to call my mom and my mom would have to lie for me because she thought l was at practice too. One day l got home and saw Cara and Byron at my house and they told me that “life is hard but sometime in life we are going to regret passing a great opportunity”. This quote has always struck with me because everyday in life l always wonder how my life would have been if l had just shown up to practice. Maybe, just maybe l could have been the youngest tennis player of Zimbabwe. I wasted this opportunity because l listened to the outside world that was telling me that l am afraid of failure and that l should quit before l failed. From this life experience l have learnt that being afraid of failure has made me pass many changes in my life. In order for us to not regret the changed we passed we have to overcome our fear of failure or else we will never succeed in life so we should grab and hold on to those changes even though we might tend to think that change is negative rather than positive.

Life Philosophies

DO NOT GIVE UP

The most obvious one. Work hard. Work hard for yourself. Work for the things you want to achieve. On the road to your success you will face many obstacles and feel like giving up. But there is no point in trying and settling for less than you planned to.

I’d like to share a story of me in grade 10. I was in -2 english and -3 math I knew there were a lot of people taking -2 so I was fine with that but taking -3 math made me feel like I was put into a class full of people who don’t try in school at all. So instead of actually trying I kind of accepted that I was dumb and worthless especially after I searched up -3 math can’t get me a proper job in the future. My parents were disappointed in me and all of my friends were in -1 classes. I didn’t try the whole semester so when I was put into math 10c I realized that this is my chance to work hard and prove to my friends and family that I am capable of something. I ended up getting a higher mark in 10c than I did in -3.

So that is what motivates me to keep trying in school and not giving up because I am capable of achieving more than I can imagine. Its these small steps that prepare you to keep on working hard. And you all may not see how much potential you all have but believing in yourself and working hard and having a strong mindset will get you where you want to be.

GO OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE. TAKE EVERY OPPORTUNITY LIFE HANDS YOU AND IF YOU MAKE A MISTAKE; FORGIVE YOURSELF.

Although it can be hard to try things that are nerve racking it is important for all of us to try something new because with new experiences comes more knowledge and opportunities. Maybe when you come out of your bubble, everything you ever wanted can be out there.

Some of us are not as privileged as others so we should not take anything for granted instead we should make use of yourselves.

Later on we will realize that bad decisions and choices have only made us more knowledgeable and prepared us for other life challenges. We should all take our mistakes and bad choices as blessings so we are better prepared for next time.We should all learn to forgive ourselves not only for the bad choices we made but for not knowing what we know now. There is strength in forgiving. Because forgiveness does not mean you are over it, it means you understand your worth and you are powerful enough to not let that bring you down.

BE HAPPY AND STAY HAPPY

Be happy. Once this year is done I encourage you all to plan your future where you feel comfortable around the people you are with and happy with what you do. Take a year off to travel or to work or go to university or any trade school if that is what you want. Because of what I have noticed in my life personally is that if I don’t like the people I’m surrounded by I miss out on the fun. If I don’t genuinely like what I am doing I won’t try at all. Do stuff you’re passionate about no matter what anyone thinks because this is your life follow your dreams and work hard for your goals. If you aren’t happy with where you are in life make goals to change yourself and/or circumstances. Work hard for your happiness. Once you are happy life becomes beautiful to you. Life is too short to always live under other people’s rules. Invest time in yourself and I promise you happiness will follow you.

And my one last. Love yourself. Love yourself because no one will do it for you. I feel this one needs to be brought out in today’s society especially since it is such an important part in building yourself. You cannot expect anyone to give you the love you need to be happy. Not your girlfriend not your boyfriend, your best friend or even your family sometimes. I feel like when someone starts to show some attention we become too attached and sometimes in that process of being attracted to someone we detach yourself from us. It is true that every relationship has problems whether it is with your spouse friend or family.But some relationship can be unhealthy. There is a lot of emotional, physical and sexually abuse that happens often in some relationship making it hard for the victim to consider themselves as a victim in the first place. And then it gets hard to walk away or take a stand for yourself especially when the other person is using your weakness against you. I believe the first step to love yourself is to believe that you are everything you will ever need. Before you are someone’s friend, sister, brother, daughter, mom or dad you are your own person. Do not allow anyone to make you their property. Sometime in your lifetime you will have people bringing you down and no matter how hard it gets you need to convince your mind that you are nothing but beautiful.

Over the weekend I was caught in between two teenager girls arguing with the mom of the girls ex-best friend. They started off talking about how her daughter is a “cokehead” and how her boyfriend beats her. Before the mother got to say anything back they yelled at her for not being financially stable and made her feel like society views her lower than everyone else just because she lives on rent. I was standing there trying to process how much hate those girls have for them to not only talk rudely about their ex best friend but also create a scene where they yell at a mother who probably is working hard to keep a roof over her families head. If I was to assume they were telling the truth, it blows my mind just trying to imagine what that young girl might be going through. The abusive boyfriend might be using her weakness against her making it hard for her to realize that she is worth way more than that boy treats her. Maybe she does not have anyone supporting her- helping her gain that confidence to stand up for herself. Maybe due to her innocence she unintentionally gave him the power of control. And that is not a sign of weakness- is a sign of broken love; broken promises; childhood trauma that still needs healing till this day. If the picture of her in my head is true I admire her. As a another girl in this world I want her to know that she will survive this. I feel a really strong connection with her, without even knowing her and if I was to reach out to her I won’t ask why, when, where or any detail of traumatic incidents where she struggles to define her feelings. I will open my arms to her; provide her shelter and prove to her that she will find a way back to herself.

One thing everyone can take away with this is to not fear anyone’s rejection, so when you believe what you are, you will respect yourself and the right people will come to you.

The philosophy hard work over talent has influenced me because I believe that talent can allow you to go so far in any activities. In life people can be naturally talented in many things such as sports or art. Although someone can be very good at what they do the natural talent they have for the activity will get them to a certain skill level but to exceed that you must be ready to work hard on developing the knowledge and skills. Relying only on talent will give you a disadvantage against someone who works hard because they have been further developing their skills while you have been stuck at the same place. My example for this is working on cars. I chose this because if a person wanted to build their own car they have to have the experience of working on cars because they can know all they want about cars but to work on the engine or fix them you must have experience. Having the knowledge can be good but it is no good if you don’t know how to change the oil. This shows that talent can be applied to get a head start but hard work overcomes it because it allows for the development of skills.

The most important thing in life is to have fun

Fun is very important because life is all about the experiences you have. The only way to have a good life is to enjoy it, so a person could have a high paying job, a nice car, and the biggest house but if they aren’t enjoying their life there is no point have those nice things. A way to have fun is to try new things or to travel or doing anything that you are passionate about. Having fun is the one of the only ways to make your life interesting because anything you do that makes you happy or excites you is fun.

Have control over your life

Having control over your life ensures that you can enjoy it. This allows people to follow their own dreams instead of the peoples around them. Having control to me is that you are living your life the way you want to, so it could be what career you want to follow after school or any activity you do in your free time. A person can show that they have control by turning down things that they don’t want to do such as if someone is pushing you to do drugs and you decline it can show that other people aren’t in control of you. Having this is important because you are the only one that is living your life and it purpose is to fulfill your desires or what you want out of your life.

Success isn’t always about how much money you have

Success isn’t always about money. Although money can show your accomplishments as the career you have it does not show what you have experienced in your life and the knowledge you have gained. Success can be in different forms for many people such as for some having a loving family is a personal goal, but it can also be any skills you have gained. To me success is when you can say that you have enjoyed your life. This could be the different experiences you have had such as travelling the world, or it could be that you have a goal to learn something new every day. Achieving any goal that a person has is considered being successful because of the fact that you have done something that you have strived for and you have accomplished.

Believe that you can do anything you want to

Believing that you can achieve success is a way to give you the push you need to strive for greatness. I think that if a person doesn’t believe in themselves then they are setting themselves for failure because it can eat away at your confidence. This feeling can limit your abilities to strive for your goals because it makes you feel like you can’t accomplish anything you want to. In sports believing that you can do anything pushes you to put your full effort into the game because it can give you the confidence to strive to be a better player than you are. My personal story is about playing hockey. I play the position of goalie, so allowing a puck to go in can lower your confidence. This results in more goals because the thought of not being good enough to stop the puck and this thought controls what you do on the ice. Believing that you are going to fail will result in failure. By believing in yourself you are creating confidence that shows when you preform the best you can.
